Bass Communion/Modelbau - Analysis Reveals Nothing of Substance

New Bass Communion collaboration album with Modelbau out March 2026!

A forthcoming Bass Communion CD is available to pre-order, for release in March. This one is a collaboration with my friend Frans De Waard working under his Modelbau alias. Frans guested with me at a Bass Communion show at Cafe Oto back in May 2024, and in the days preparing for that show we spontaneously recorded a lot of new music. About 70 minutes worth of this music was later developed and edited to form ‘Analysis Reveals Nothing of Substance’, a CD limited to a one-off run of just 600 copies.

The limited nature and elaborate packaging has made it slightly more expensive than your average CD, but as ever the Carl Glover design is gorgeous.

Bass Communion are also taking part in Lumberton Trading Company’s Elite Editions subscription series of 6 vinyl releases (150 only!) with an LP of two quite noisy side long pieces. Destined to be probably the most rarified of all my releases, there are only a few of these subscription places left to fill. Highly recommended if you are a fan of experimental music, not least because the legendary Zoviet France are also contributing a double album of unreleased music to the series.
