Impossible Tightrope: Live in Madrid, a Headphone Dust exclusive live album from The Overview Tour is now available, plus a brand-new Dolby Atmos mix of The Raven That Refused To Sing, and much more!
First purchase (Tightrope Definitive Edition) was a smashing success. Playback using Infuse on a MacBook Pro via HDMI to a 5.2 Atmos AVR. Probably took 30 minutes to slowly go through all the infuse instructions and Mac adjustments (almost forgot to redirect the Sound settings) but well worth the time. Outstanding Sound (as expected from SW). I generally prefer physical media because I like a visceral, tangible object in my hands (and it's something I can later sell when I grow tired of it). But I understand that digital, especially at this level of quality and playback options will be the future . . . . . so bring it on Steven; drag us into the future. We won't byte.
Is there any way that updates to the files can be announced. I logged back in today to see that ALAC files have been added for binaural, stereo, and 5.1. I’m also led to believe that the mkv’s have been updated due to issues with the original files. Is that correct?
Well I've been putting my digital system together starting 26 years ago or so alongside my analogue system. It started with 5.1 Sea speakers for home theater. Over time I realized these speakers were perfect for cd's in the way they reproduced them so cleanly. I saw the Overview tour in DC at the Warner and as soon as I read about the headphone dust project featuring Steven Wilson's Impossible Tightrope project I had no doubt what I needed to do. It took me multiple downloads because you probably need 30 GB of hard drive space to download it successfully. Then I had to rehook up the computer via HDMI to the TV with coax to the NAD receiver in 5.2 setup. After that I enjoyed 2 hrs. and 12 minutes of pure bliss. Am I crazy to feel like Steven and I have both been working towards a beautiful nexus of artistic creation and fan appreciation. It's that good!
This is awesome. I’ve already purchased 4 Steven Wilson albums in Hi-res audio and Atmos from this site and I’m looking forward to more being released soon.
All the best on this new project! Really looking forward to enjoying Atmos mixes on my iPhone.
If you are taking requests for interest...some Gentle Giant remixes would be great! Especially The Power and the Glory which is as rare as hens teeth these days,
It would be great if you listed out exactly what formats you get with each title prior to checkout. It was a very nice surprise to see that this live recording features a binaural high resolution download for headphones - which is not mentioned in any of the marketing for this new service or for this title. Do any of the other downloads also include high resolution binaural files?
Wish you were offering separate formats for these, especially the live show. I have no need for hi-res or Atmos. I just want stereo FLAC files and $27 (USD) is WAY too much for that.
Would happily pay more for a physical copy, especially the live show. From what I’m seeing, a bit of a PIA to play back these digital files.
Hope the new live release does make the physical format as that’s how I listen to my music.
Thank you so much! Since I saw the show in Düsseldorf I wanted to hear this fantastic live music (best concert ever!) again!!!!

Anyone else getting no response on “extra information” in the chat?
Frustrating!

Thanks excellent saw the show in Bristol! 🎧
I was at the show in Hamburg and was thinking afterwards "maybe we are lucky and there will be a Blu-ray of this sometime".
