These ideally should be amateur photos taken on analogue camera (Polaroids ideal) and could be of anything. They don’t need to have people in them, they can be funny, serious, or just strange in some way. What I’m looking for here is a sense of otherness, a feeling of nostalgia, of something lost. The technical quality of them doesn’t matter, in fact the more lo-fi, blurry or rusted out the better! I’ve included an example here that could help give you an idea of the vibe I’m after.

If you submit your photos and I end up using one or more of them, I need to know that you’re happy for them to be used without any remuneration, but I am of course happy to credit you in the artwork. Additionally, anyone whose photos get used will receive a free copy of the deluxe edition of the album.

I love (and am still committed to) the Blu-ray format, but not everyone has the capacity to play these discs, not to mention that these releases need to be limited and tend to go out of print quickly, meaning the audio becomes unavailable.

So I’m happy to announce that a brand new Headphone Dust high res audio resource has now launched and will provide a permanent home for my work to be downloaded in high resolution, 5.1 and Atmos / spatial audio. To begin with I’m concentrating on my solo catalogue, but in time I hope to also be able to include other work with my own bands / collaborations and the many artists I’ve mixed for.

To celebrate the launch an exclusive live album is now available. Impossible Tightrope is a complete document of the final concert of the European leg of The Overview tour. Recorded in front of a lively Madrid audience, the two hour plus show has been mixed from the multitracks in stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos. There are no plans for any physical release of this recording.

Additionally I have remixed two of my most popular albums The Raven That Refused to Sing (2013), and Hand.Cannot.Erase (2015) into Dolby Atmos for the first time. Raven is out now and Hand. Cannot. Erase. will be available soon!

The first is a 30th Anniversary Edition of the first full length No-Man album Loveblows & Lovecries: A Confession, a record that exists somewhere between electronic pop, art-rock and atmospheric experimentation.

At the time No-Man was a trio of myself, Tim Bowness and virtuoso violinist Ben Coleman.

The second is a remastered and expanded version of the Lost Songs collection from 1999, now released as Scatter - Lost Not Lost Volume II (a follow up to the previously released Swagger collection of rarities from the 1989-91 period). Scatter is a collection of tracks recorded between 1991-1997 that showcases the band at its most adventurous and eclectic. Most of these tracks fell by the wayside because they didn’t fit with whatever project we were working on at the time, but in retrospect I consider it to be one of our very best albums.

This one is a collaboration with my friend Frans De Waard working under his Modelbau alias. Frans guested with me at a Bass Communion show at Cafe Oto back in May 2024, and in the days preparing for that show we spontaneously recorded a lot of new music. About 70 minutes worth of this music was later developed and edited to form ‘Analysis Reveals Nothing of Substance’, a CD limited to a one-off run of just 600 copies.

The limited nature and elaborate packaging has made it slightly more expensive than your average CD, but as ever the Carl Glover design is gorgeous.
